ADM Volleyball vs. Boone

By Kelsey Merschman

On September 13th, the volleyball team boarded the bus for their most challenging game so far. The Boone Toreadors were well equipped, and the Tigers knew they would have to fight to the end to win the match.

During the first game, ADM got off to a slow start. Their passing wasn’t top notch, and the girls had a hard time hitting around Boone’s blockers. They lost by 5 against Boone’s powerful outside hitters.

The Tigers were determined not to give up. The next match they fought for every point. Haley Schepers led the Tigers to victory with her amazing serving and passing skills. The final score of game two was 29-27.

The last two games were very exciting for all spectators to watch. The Tigers pushed themselves above the Toreadors winning in four matches.

Although the team admitted to not playing their best, they never gave up. Coach Scott stated afterwards: “In all my 20 years of coaching, I have never had a team that can come back like our team this year did tonight. We never gave up.”

The ADM volleyball team traveled to Perry, September 6th, to take on the Jayettes in their 7th game of the year.

The freshman team played well, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Jayettes. The junior varsity team also struggled. The JV team ended up losing in four sets as well.

The varsity team finished off the night win. They won in three straight sets, 25-20, 25-22, and 25-21. The team didn’t play their best, but it was good enough for the victory.

ADM Volleyball vs. Saydel

by Kinser Haselhuhn

The ADM volleyball team played their first game of the season Tuesday night against the Saydel Eagles. The freshman, junior varsity, and varsity teams were all in action.

The freshman team beat the Eagles all three games, and the JV team also beat Saydel in three games. The varsity team finished off the night beating the Eagles, 25-17, 25-18, 25-15. Kelsey Merschman and Megan Ticknor both thought that the varsity team played down to Saydel’s level, but also thought the team played well for their first game of the season.

Congratulations to the ADM Varsity Volleyball team on their victory in the ADM Invitational! The varsity volleyball team was host of the Tiger Invitational Thursday. The Tigers hosted, I-35, Knoxville, Newton, Perry, and West Central Valley. The Tigers went 5-0 in the tournament, only losing one set. The Tigers had great all around performances by everyone on the team.
